Stop Blogging?

I was told, just recently, that blogging was probably not a good idea for me but since I already started that I really shouldn't stop. That PISSED me off. Why? I did not start blogging to gain power or to showcase any talents or because of my Leo-ego. I started blogging to gain the input of people smarted than me and more experienced in the ceremonial magick arena. It's kinda difficult to get information from some orders, especially if one is not an initiate, so I felt the blogosphere would be a good venue to use as a sounding board. If a reader gains insight from my posts or finds entertainment in my writing, then GREAT. Love it!

Someone has also made the comment that the blog opens me up to the politics of the various groups within the ceremonial magick arena. That also PISSED me off. Why? Because I hate politics, and all drama for the matter. I do not really care who is "disagreeing" with who or about what. Simply put, I want to learn the magick and all of the other shit is just a distraction to what I really want to do. My intentions are truly and sincerely for learning. If I can write it down in a post, I can say that I worked on that particular concept, found the relevant associations within my own life and progressed further in the Work. My posts may not be grandiose epiphanies or a showcase of scholarly knowledge of the various rites or fanciful prose full of visualizations but IT IS ALL ME. It truly hurt me that someone would imply that my posts could spur politics and drama because I believe my intentions and my actions are pretty clear-cut. I AM EAGER AND WILLING TO LEARN.

So I will continue to blog, make notes of any comments (which are always appreciated), read the other blogs, filter all of the bullshit and make my OWN decision on the truth with a little help with whatever Light is given to me, regardless of who or what blogo-issue might be blocking it.

Thank you kind reader for your continued input and support!

Honestly, there are always someone telling a blogger that they should not be blogging. The lyrics change, but the tune stays the same. The only thing that matters is if you want to blog; everything else is just commentary.

Frater Morgan: Thank you. It's tough for me, being so new and there was a part of me that wondered if I was doing the right thing. I dont want to diss anyone, I just want to learn and my blog is a perfect outlet and venue for it.

I fully encourage your blogging. I have seen so much growth in you over the past year and the blog is another window into what's going on internally that I wouldn't otherwise know. Thank you for having the courage to share.

You're the only one who should decide whether or not you want to blog. i certainly enjoy reading your posts and hope you keep it up!

Gotta wonder if people who have time for politics have time for the Work...

@Gynwyt Siarad: You hit upon something I hadnt thought about before. Yes, this blog takes a lot of courage to do: putting my thoughts, me failures and weaknesses down for all the world to see. It truly has helped me face my issues and grow because when I do get all that crap out, it no longer poisons me.

The internet, like the rest of the world, is filled with idiots.

The good news is that they're easily ignored. The bad news is that occasionally a Troll manages to piss you off.

As for why anyone blogs, or "what they bring to the table" - that doesn't matter. What matters is if it a) generates interest, or b) helps you clarify things. Just writing things down can force you to reconsider events, or even your feelings, as you do it.

But, uh. The comments you got sound "Troll"-ish to me. And "magickal politics"? Bwahahaha. That's a bunch've adults threatening one another as if they're still teens and playing Alpha Fe/Male games. Also easily ignored.

Frater Jack: Thanks for explaining the whole drama of the blogosphere. The blog DOES help me clarify things.
As for trolls, I dated one for a while, he was 5' and he wore 6" platforms to make himself feel taller :) Go figure
